Chairman, Independent Director Mr. Freeman has over 35 years of mining industry experience in a variety of technical, managerial and executive positions with junior and senior mining and service companies, including Co-Founder of Orvana Minerals and Chief Geophysicist at Placer Dome. He is currently self-employed as a consultant and serves in leadership roles for the Society of Mining Engineers and as an Advisor to Montana Tech, University of Arizona, and South Dakota School of Mines.
President & CEO, Director Mr. Osterberg’s 25 years of mining industry experience includes small, mid-sized, and major mining companies, and mining engineering consulting firms. From 2012 through 2015, prior to his current position, he has served the past 4 years as Timberline’s VP of Exploration where he managed technical services of the Company including the successful advance of the company’s Talapoosa Project through a positive Preliminary Economic Assessment. In addition, he successfully directed the Butte Highlands Project to positive EIS and EA results staging the project to be one of the first newly permitted full-scale metal mines in Montana in over 25 years. Prior to joining Timberline, Mr. Osterberg developed an unusually diverse experience base working as a mining consultant at Tetra Tech and Knight Piesold, and as a Senior Geologist within the discovery group of BHP Minerals. He earned his Ph.D. and M.S. degrees in geology from the University of Minnesota and his B.S. from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh.
Director Mr. Dircksen has over 35 years of experience in the mining and exploration industry, serving in executive, managerial, and technical roles at several companies. He has a strong technical background, serving as a team member on nine gold discoveries, seven of which later became operating mines. Mr. Dircksen has held senior management positions with Lacana Gold, The Cordex Syndicate, Orvana Minerals, Bravo Venture Group, and Brett Resources. He holds an M.S. in Geology from the Mackay School of Mines at the University of Nevada.
Independent Director Mr. Martinez is a metallurgical engineer with over 35 years of experience in the mining and exploraiton industry. Since 2005, Mr. Martinez has been an independent mine management andmetallurgical consultant. In addition, he has been a member of the Board of Directors of Metallica Resources Inc. and Zacoro Metals. For over 16 years, Mr. Martinez held various management and executive positions at NYSE-listed Coeur d’Alene Mines Corporation including serving as Vice President and General Manager of the Rochester Mine in Nevada, Vice President of Engineering and Operations, Senior Vice President of Operations, and President and Chief Operating Officer. He holds a B.S. in Metallurgical Engineering from the University of Arizona and has completed graduate work in business at Western New Mexico University and Dartmouth College.
Independent Director Mr. Giulio T. Bonifacio has over 30 years in senior executive positions in the mining industry including as the founder, President & CEO of Nevada Copper Corp. which advanced the Pumpkin Hollow Copper Project located in Nevada from the exploration stage and now ranks as the largest fully permitted, shovel-ready copper project in the Americas. Among his many accomplishments, Mr. Bonifacio has been instrumental in arranging over US$425 million in equity and project debt financings for advanced stage development projects. Mr. Bonifacio is a Chartered Professional Accountant with extensive experience and knowledge in areas of capital markets, project finance, securities matters and mergers & acquisitions. Mr. Bonifacio has held senior executive roles primarily in the precious metal sector with Getty Resources Limited, TOTAL S.A., and Vengold Inc. Mr. Bonifacio has been a senior or lead director of several publicly traded companies in the mining industry and most recently was with Goldrock Mines Corp. which was acquired in July 2016.
Independent Director Mr. Zink has over 35 years as a natural resource professional. In his most recent experience as Sr. VP and CFO at Rare Element Resources, Ltd. (REE) he managed the financial, investor relations and business development functions for the company. His previous experience includes senior management positions at International Royalty Corporation (IRC), Americas Bullion Royalty Corp. (AMB), and Eurasian Capital. Over his career in mining, he has also held high level positions with companies like Pegasus Gold, Inc. and Koch Industries. Early in his career, he spent more than 15 years with J.P. Morgan & Co. in commercial and investment banking roles covering the minerals and energy sectors. He holds a B.A. in Economics & International Relations from Lehigh University.
