Leigh Freeman

Chairman, Independent Director   Mr. Freeman has over 35 years of mining industry experience in a variety of technical, managerial and executive positions with junior and senior mining and service companies, including Co-Founder of Orvana Minerals and Chief Geophysicist at Placer Dome.  He is currently self-employed as a consultant and serves in leadership roles for the Society of Mining Engineers and as an Advisor to Montana Tech, University of Arizona, and South Dakota School of Mines.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 


 

Steven Osterberg, Ph.D., P.G. S.Osterberg Cropped

President & CEO, Director   Mr. Osterberg’s 25 years of mining industry experience includes small, mid-sized, and major mining companies, and mining engineering consulting firms.  From 2012 through 2015, prior to his current position, he has served the past 4 years as Timberline’s VP of Exploration where he managed technical services of the Company including the successful advance of the company’s Talapoosa Project through a positive Preliminary Economic Assessment.  In addition, he successfully directed the Butte Highlands Project to positive EIS and EA results staging the project to be one of the first newly permitted full-scale metal mines in Montana in over 25 years.  Prior to joining Timberline, Mr. Osterberg developed an unusually diverse experience base working as a mining consultant at Tetra Tech and Knight Piesold, and as a Senior Geologist within the discovery group of BHP Minerals. He earned his Ph.D. and M.S. degrees in geology from the University of Minnesota and his B.S. from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh.

Director   Mr. Dircksen has over 35 years of experience in the mining and exploration industry, serving in executive, managerial, and technical roles at several companies. He has a strong technical background, serving as a team member on nine gold discoveries, seven of which later became operating mines. Mr. Dircksen has held senior management positions with Lacana Gold, The Cordex Syndicate, Orvana Minerals, Bravo Venture Group, and Brett Resources. He holds an M.S. in Geology from the Mackay School of Mines at the University of Nevada.

Director   Mr. Mathewson has greater than 50 years of exploration experience, primarily focused in Nevada. Since June 2016, Dave has been Vice-President and Head of Exploration at U.S. Gold Corp. He is also self-employed since 2001 as owner and geologist at Nevada Gold Ventures, LLC. Notable discoveries made while head of Newmont Nevada’s exploration team from 1989 through 2001 include: Tess, Northwest Rain, Saddle and South Emigrant in the Rain mining district, as well as important deposit extension discoveries at Newmont’s Gold Quarry and Mike deposits. Dave’s work as founder, Director, and Vice President of Exploration from 2009 to 2014 at Gold Standard Ventures led to the consolidation of the Railroad-Pinion district and the North Bullion & Bald Mountain discoveries. He earned his MSc degree in geology from the University of Idaho and completed PhD studies at New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology.

Vice President, Director   Mr. McDowell has over 30 years of geological exploration, property evaluation, and development experience primarily focused in the mineral exploration industry in Nevada. Since 2008, Don has served as the founding President of Americas Gold Exploration Inc., a private company dedicated to Nevada mineral exploration. In late 2017, he was instrumental in the acquisition of the Carlin Vanadium Property by Cornerstone Metals. Previously, Don’s experience includes 17 years with major corporations including Nippon Mining of Japan, Santa Fe Pacific Gold and Kennecott Exploration, where he was involved in exploration, resource/reserve evaluations and mine development. Mr. McDowell is a registered professional land surveyor in the state of California.
