Patrick Highsmith
President & CEO Mr. Highsmith has more than 30 years of international experience including operational, exploration and business development roles with major companies such as Newmont Mining, BHP, Rio Tinto, and Fortescue Metals Group. He also has co-founded, and/or acted as a director or senior executive in several junior companies. His junior company pedigree includes Canadian listed companies such as: Lithium One, Bellhaven Copper & Gold, Pure Energy Minerals, Idaho Champion Gold Mines, and FireFox Gold, for whom he is co-founder and chairman of the board. Mr. Highsmith has been involved with several significant discoveries and helped add value to those projects through various stages of economic advancement, partnerships, joint ventures, or sales. He has a long history with Dr. Hennigh, Chairman Leigh Freeman, as well as the current CEO, Steven Osterberg. Patrick holds degrees in Geological Engineering and Economic Geology (Geochemistry) from the Colorado School of Mines. He has specialized technical expertise in gold, copper, and lithium exploration.
Steven Osterberg, Ph.D., P.G.
Vice President of Exploration Dr. Osterberg’s 25 years of mining industry experience includes small, mid-sized, and major mining companies, and mining engineering consulting firms. Dr. Osterberg served as President and CEO of Timberline from 2015 through 2020. From 2012 through 2015, he served the as Timberline’s VP of Exploration where he managed technical services of the Company including the successful advance of the company’s Talapoosa Project through a positive Preliminary Economic Assessment. In addition, he successfully directed the Butte Highlands Project to positive EIS and EA results staging the project to be one of the first newly permitted full-scale metal mines in Montana in over 25 years. Prior to joining Timberline, Dr. Osterberg developed an unusually diverse experience base working as a mining consultant at Tetra Tech and Knight Piesold, and as a Senior Geologist within the discovery group of BHP Minerals. He earned his Ph.D. and M.S. degrees in geology from the University of Minnesota and his B.S. from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh.
Ted Sharp, CPA
Chief Financial Officer Mr. Sharp has over 25 years of experience in a diversity of industries, including the exploration and mining sector. He is currently President of a privately-held accounting firm in Nampa, Idaho which provides CFO services. His past experience includes executive roles at Key Technology Inc., a publicly-traded manufacturer of capital goods, and working in both public accounting and private industry. He holds a BBA in Accounting from Boise State University and is a Certified Public Accountant in both Idaho and Washington.
